I'm happy to declare Amy Sorrells the winner of the inaugural Strong Scene Contest. If you haven't read her scene it's on the previous post with the rest of the finalists. She was scene number three. Monique High was the Honorary Judge and she did a stellar job. Thanks to everyone who participated. We're already off to a fast start for May. Stay tuned for more changes to this blog in the next couple of days.
I did not envy Monique High's decision-making task. The submissions were all stellar in their own way. Congratulations, Amy! Keep up the high quality work.

Congrats Amy...Great work!
ReplyDeleteM & Shawna Lynn and all--thanks for reading and for your encouragement. And thanks so much to Gary and Monique! I feel (not a bit) unworthy, after reading all the other finalists, and also because my focus is non-fiction. But I will say, I have learned more about improving my non-fiction from fiction writers than anyone else. Can't wait to see what May submissions bring. Oh, and in her critique, Monique said she didn't realize guinea pigs purr . . . indeed they do, and I still miss the sound! :)
ReplyDeleteYay Amy! Woot!
ReplyDeleteGreat job everyone! Congrats to Amy! :-) Looking forward to submitting to this monthly contest.
